Love 2.0

LoveBlossoms (Barbara Fredrickson) has studied and written about upward spirals, and, in fact, her work is what helped Micko understand the great importance of upward spirals.

LoveBlossoms presents a new and fascinating view of Love, she calls Love 2.0, meaning a newer and more evolved view of what Love is.

She talks about micromoments of Love

Within each moment of loving connection, you become sincerely invested in this other person’s well-being, simply for his or her own sake. And the feeling is mutual.” 10

  • “love is connection…fondness and sense of shared purpose you might unexpectedly feel with a group of strangers who’ve come together to marvel at a hatching of sea turtles or cheer at a football game…Love blossoms virtually anytime two or more people—even strangers—connect over a shared positive emotion, be it mild or strong” 17
  • “to put it in a nutshell, love is the momentary upwelling of three tightly interwoven events:
    • first, a sharing of one or more positive emotions between you and another; [rc?]
      • Not proximity?
    • second, a synchrony between your and the other person’s biochemistry and behaviors; [rc at biochemistry and behavior]
      • Not proximity????????????
      •
    • and third, a reflected motive to invest in each other’s well-being that brings mutual care…
    • “My shorthand for this trio is positivity resonance…life-giving positivity resonates between and among people. This back-and-forth reverberation of positive energy sustains itself—and can even grow stronger—until the momentary connection wanes” 17…
      • Not proximity
